you decide!

this is peanut:
this is pooks:
this is bubba:so YOU decide...who does peanut look like?

i still say bubba! he's got bubba's chubby cheeks, the same lips and when his eyes are open--they look like bubba (in this pic peanut was getting ready to open his eyes so they look different). all the boys have the same chin and their noses are very similar but i still say he looks like bubba. i do have to say though that peanuts skin tone is much lighter than the other boys. obviously in the picture you can see that but in real life i think his skin is lighter too. so hows that for comparison? post who you think he looks like in a comment, nanaw and i are on opposite sides and i want to see who is right ;)
---------------------
on another note, i totally forgot to update after peanuts 2 week appt. basically the only thing we learned was that he is not jaundice--its all cleared up, and his weight. at birth he weighed 6lbs 13oz, when we left the hospital he was down to 6lbs 8oz and at two weeks....

7lbs 2 oz! not too shabby for a ''36 weeker" as the hospital kept labeling him. he looked good and on the 18th i take both pooks and peanut back for well baby check-ups. pooks will be 19mos old (but it's his 18mos check up) and peanut will be 1 month. i'm curious to see what they each weigh. pooks is freaking heavy- just solid and peanut has already outgrown all his premie sleepers in length and is wearing newborn size. (bubba won't go back for a check up til he's 3)
-----------------------
and lastly one other thing i wanted to share:

we found pooks a race car bed! W00hoO! i managed to find one on craigslist, i called and she still had it. (its not here but in the town we just moved from) the bed is exactly like bubba's so it couldn't be more perfect. plus the price was extremely reasonable. the downside is that its over 2 hours away but luckily my favorite aunt in the whole wide world is going to go get it for us, so thank you aunt d! hopefully if the weather is cooperating we'll be able to go pick it up on Saturday.

and honestly Sat couldn't get here quickly enough since pooks climbed out of his crib all by himself this morning. he's never gotten out or shown any signs of wanting to, but this morning when i went in their room he had his butt and legs hanging on the outside and was belly sliding down. B was going to convert the crib into a toddler bed tonight but now we'll wait til this weekend and just take it down. hopefully it was a fluke and he won't try to get out again...or at least not til we get his bed up!

I sure do like those Christmas cookies

one of my favorite parts of the holiday season is the baking/cooking/smells of the holidays. from cookies, to chex mix, to pumpkin pie and fudge--whats not to love right?

tonight we went over to nanaw and papa's house and the boys got to help nanaw make sugar cookies. this was their first Christmas where they were really able to understand what was going on and they are at the age where they like helping and cooking so they got a big kick out of it. bubba even said ''cookie dough" and ''jingle bell"! he loved eating the cookie dough raw which we had to finally tell him to stop or else he'd get a bad tummy ache. he was sneaking it when nanaw and i had our backs turned or were distracted with pooks.

speaking of pooks....*sigh* (i swear i actually sigh just thinking about the things that kid gets into!)...he is to ornery and fearless. he was climbing up and down the bar stools, jumping on the sofa, reaching for the cookie sheets, almost sat on peanut, was throwing and kicking ornaments off of the tree, talking on the phone--the list goes on! his newest thing is saying ''no''. and not as a tantrum but as an answer for any question you ask. its just this cute drawn out little ''noooo". between that and everything tasting "so nummy" or "num num"; those were his words for the day. while they were baking he wasn't allowed to be near the counter top while nanaw was rolling out the dough because he was trying to eat the flour, get the cookie cutters, eat the dough, and eat the sprinkles (which he did).

anyways here are some pictures from the baking session. now these photos are from papa's camera which he so graciously let me use since i hadn't brought my dlsr....so thanks papa!

pooks trying cookie dough for the first time
it was "so nummy- so nummy"
bubba helping nanaw flatten the dough
getting excited about the jingle bell they made
playing in flour while no one was looking
(and no one expected bubba to play in it because he doesn't like to be dirty!)

Kachow! K-k-k-chow!

it was brought to my attention yesterday by a blog follower that i have never posted pictures of bubba's car bed or their room at all. (i know i posted some pics when we moved of peanuts' bed but i guess i forgot the older boys'.) we are currently looking for a car bed for pooks...so if you know someone who is getting rid of a toddler car bed, drop me a line please! he loves his crib, he's never even tried to get out of it...he'll try to get IN it, but not crawl out. but he is a little rough on it and we're not sure how it will hold up when converted to a toddler bed. (i kid you not the child has chewed the side rail so much that it's missing paint and has bite marks).

i should add that little do they know but they are getting more stuff for their room for Christmas. we ordered pooks a toddler bedding set in "Cars", i believe that nanaw found a couple "Cars" lamps and we might get the wallpaper border that matches the decals that are already up and around the room. the boys LOVE cars...the movies, cars and trucks in general, so the theme seemed fitting.

anyways, without further ado (and to keep my readers happy) here is their "Cars" room:

from the doorway
(don't mind the curtains on the closet--removing the doors opened up the room and now bubba can get to his dresser by himself)

and there you have it-bubba and pooks' room :)

turkey day!

a few days late but oh well!

my goal on wednesday was to teach bubba and pooks to say ''happy thanksgiving'' or at least ''happy turkey day'' before the holiday. well, that didn't happen but they can say ''gobble gobble gobble" so they told everyone ''gobble gobble gobble'' whenever they were wished a happy thanksgiving. it was pretty cute!

we had a great thanksgiving and i hope that all of you did too! we went over to nanaw and papa's house early in the morning (after a starbucks run) and stayed until it was the boys' bedtime. we hung out with uncle matt, aunt rachel, great papa barry, nanaw and papa; we ate turkey, ham and all the fixin's including pumpkin pie and a WONDERFUL coconut cream pie. *mmmm, it was delicious!* we watched football and and lounged around--all the things that you are supposed to do on thanksgiving.

my one mistake for the day was in how i explained what thanksgiving was to the boys. i told them that we were going over to nanaw and papa's house for thanksgiving. that thanksgiving was a day where we celebrated everything and everyone that made us happy, we told everyone 'thank you', we get to eat all day and watch football. (okay not a great definition but hello, they are 2.5 and 1.5 years old!) well my mistake was the ''eat all day" part, because from the moment we walked through nanaw and papa's front door, they wanted to eat. they had already had breakfast but then they ate some fruit snacks, raisins, i think they had a croissant with ham and cheese, grapes--heck i can't remember everything that they snacked on! next time i will not mention the eating!

well here are some pics. surprisingly i didn't take too many...strange i know, but here are the good ones:
all the boys napping before dinner
(don't worry, peanut was only placed there for the pic-lol)
peanut with great papa barry
aunt rachel and uncle matt
pooks LOVED pumpkin pie!
bubba loved cool whip--not so much the pie
and then, to catch up on today:

today we just hung out around the house. we didn't go anywhere or really do anything special just enjoyed the weekend. we did take a 3 hour nap that was WONDERFUL. i love naps! b goes back to work tomorrow (he's been home since the day i had peanut) so tomorrow will be my first day flying solo...wish us luck! here are a few cute pictures from today:

the boys hugging--by choice!
bubba just reached out and hugged pooks and he actually hugged back!
and another, just because i couldn't believe it!
and this has totally been done before but i couldn't resist trying it. i love little baby feet...and peanut's are definitely tiny! the wedding ring thing--i thought was cute and it gives an idea of just how tiny those toes really are! usually its followed by some cheesy quote 'all because two people fell in love' or something along those lines. i can do without that but i do like the picture!
