lil drummer boy...

2 metal bowls + 1 wooden spoon + 1 plastic rice cooker spatula = 20 minutes free entertainment
seriously if i knew it was this easy he would have had "drums" in his crib at like, 4 months. i ♥ peanut but he is a HUGE momma's boy. HUGE! usually i can't turn my back (literally) without him crying. but give him some utensils and i could be in japan and he wouldn't care.
or i could be making a glaze for the ham that i baked for dinner, vacuuming the house, wiping down the kitchen table and chairs and then washing the dishes. all while banging on a few bowls. eventually his racket drew his brother's attention and then it got a little too loud for mom's liking. i promptly decided that maybe we were done with bowls and spoons for now.
oh and please ignore my 1974 linoleum flooring. we rent and i'll be damned if it isn't in near perfect condition! that's luck i guess. and FYI the floor is indeed clean...i know, i know it looks all dirty but alas that's just old linoleum for ya!

lollipop, lollipop, oh la la lollipop

just bragging blogging from my new laptop. i ♥ it. it's shiny, new, fast, pink and smells like beer.

ahhh!

wait, what? your new laptop doesn't smell like beer (or more specifically tallgrass KOLD)? oh, well then i guess mine does because i knocked B's open bottle onto the keyboard last night. you know, THREE whole hours after taking it from the FedEx man's hands. *facepalm*

luckily after a few choice words and some finger pointing we (myself, B and nanaw) acted quickly to move and unplug the laptop, tilt it on it's side and clean up the beer. then papa used the air compressor and blew out all the beer from underneath the keys. we let it dry out for an hour or so and when i turned it back on it was fine. just like new. well, just like it had been 2 hours previously but with a slight beer scent.

ahem.

i still ♥ it. and it really is just like it was before. the keys aren't sticky or anything (at least not yet). and the beer smell is fading. it's still fast, pink, shiny and kinda new...

four hundred and we're on top of the world!

this is my 400th post. seriously! four hundred blog entries since july 14, 2007. can you even believe it? (i know because blogger told me so.) man, i talk err, blog a lot!

well, i didn't get to 400 posts by sitting here talking about posting. so, on to today's:

last night after supper we took the kids out to the lake to go questing. questing is what the kids like to call trail walking. we find easy little trails around town and let them walk (rather than ride in a wagon). we pick up pine cones, watch for animals, look at leaves, listen to the crickets and pick up sticks. they absolutely love it and mom & dad like it because it wears them out before bed time is so educational.
after we were done questing, the boys discovered a new (to them) playground. they had a blast!
after we left the lake and were on our way home, we decided to make a spur of the moment stop somewhere else. it's a lookout point of sorts, and also has nice walking trail. in fact, you may say that it's like being on top of the world...
all in all, it was a very fun evening. surprisingly no one was eaten alive by bugs and the boys slept til 9am this morning. WIN!

maybe...

my big boys aren't as big as i originally thought? after tucking them into bed (in their big boy beds, remember?) i went and checked on them. only seeing them in their beds made me realize, maybe they aren't so big.
case in point, my sleeping pooks:
what? you can't find him? yeah, me either! let me help you out here:
hmmm....kinda still looks like a little guy in a big bed.

now that i'm not quite as tired and not quite as emotional, i realize that they are still little. but they are growing up fast!

splish, splash!

who knew that B and I created such little fishes!? we set up the pool this afternoon and the kids loved it. well, mainly peanut and pooks. bubba liked it but not as much as his brothers.
pookie
peanut loved splashing and kicking
even laying on his tummy, he didn't cry. despite that fact that the water was up to his chin!
who would have thought that these 2 clowns:
could have created these good looking boys!?
and yes, that was the best pic i managed to get. i love lazy sunday's!
