36 weeks, 2 days and counting!

well i just got back from my ob appointment and everything is right on track. i am a "stretchy" 3 cms dilated, my blood pressure was perfect, Peanut's HB was loud and clear at 128bpm and i even lost 2 lbs! peanut is head down but i forgot to ask if he was actually engaged in my pelvis or not. it doesn't really matter, i was just curious. on the TMI note, i have started to lose some of my mucous plug---thats grossly exciting!

at this stage I could go into labor at any point and that would be okay. ideally full term is 37 weeks but he isn't the slightest bit worried if i "go" before Friday. both boys were 37 weekers and were good sizes, didn't have any problems or complications with birth/delivery so he's not concerned. Dr P is sticking to his guess of thursday. he ended with ''you might make it to your appointment on Monday but i don't imagine that i'll see you in the office after that. i would be completely shocked if you went any longer."

we shall see! i haven't had contractions today (at least not yet) but i am tired and my back hurts. this close to the end its hard not to diagnose every little thing as pre-term labor!

irrational pregnancy hormones...

got the best of me last night.

pooks hair is beautiful curls. i love them. i've never cut it very short because i value his curly hair that much. well last night, i'd had enough of his curls.

first of all, the kid always puts food in his hair. pizza sauce, mashed potatos, messiness after eating watermelon, sticky rice, peanut butter and jelly--he has no stopping point. its a total pain in the ass to clean out. last night we ate barbeque chicken, talk about a mess!

secondly, washing it. you have to really soap his hair up with shampoo, then rinse AT LEAST 4 times because the soap gets all mixed up in the curls. then after his shower you have to try to comb the tangles out which is another process because he doesn't sit still. so B has to hold him while I attempt to comb his hair. not fun for anyone involved.

lastly, the hair pulling. the boys are finally getting to that age where i guess brothers will just be brothers. they hit eachother for no reason, push eachother down, play tug of war with a toy and ultimately it ends by pulling eachother's hair. when pooks pulls bubbas hair, i'm sure it hurts but he doesn't actually pull hair out...bubba does. he'll yank pooks' hair so hard that he will actually have a lock of hair in his hand. pooks is bawling, bubba is mad because hair is stuck to his hand and i'm left there thinking ''what the hell are they doing to eachother?"

so you can see where this is going right? last night i was tired, i didn't feel good, i'd been having contractions, i'd broken up several of their little fights and i was over it. B dried pooks off, handed him over to me and i set him in the sink to let him play with the faucet and his toothbrush. meanwhile i grabbed the shears and went to town. i didn't measure or use a comb, just my fingers and the shears. overall, given the circumstances and the fact that the whole thing took 5 minutes i don't think it turned out to shabby.

just a reminder...

if you want to guess when peanut will arrive you might want to get your guess in soon! the link thingy is over on the right hand side "expect net" button will take you to it...

i mention this because i've had contractions for over an 1hr, all about 9 minutes apart. they aren't painful but they aren't comfy either. so i'm off to get a shower and hopefully they will settle down so i can sleep. but my body is definitely doing something!!!

pictures of b and p

it seems like its been forever since i updated with pics of the boys; in reality its been since halloween but regardless i took some pictures tonight. lately i've had baby stuff on the brain, trying to get things organized and ready and i've been neglecting to take pics. don't worry, i haven't neglected them (i promise!) but i've neglected my camera. so without further ado:

bubba being silly while eating cherry cobbler after supper

pooks eating his cobbler too!
when he finished his cobbler, he tackled B
lovin' on his baby. hopefully he does this well with peanut!

making faces at papa while driving

where was bubba during all of this? oh STILL eating his cobbler. he knew that after dessert he'd have to get his bath so he took over 30 minutes to eat his cobbler. sneaky little guy.

this is him rolling his eyes...he thinks its hilarious!
