my blood pressure...

was 128/66!!

Woot! Woot! i took it with my home blood pressure cuff and that is an awesome reading! of course this is sitting on the loveseat surfing the net...i don't know how high its getting while i'm up and about with the kiddos though. i have to do my 24 hour urine collection next thursday and then my appt is friday. i am getting so incredibily anxious for my ultrasound. i don't have a gut feeling....part of me thinks its a boy. honestly though i wonder if i'm not sub-consciously telling myself that so that IF its a boy, i won't be so disappointed. i know that if its a girl, i'll freak out with excitement and probably drain our checking account with one shopping spree. lol. i already have my eye on some adorable fleece jumpers and sleepers that i saw at babies r us that were pink and brown polka dots. i have not allowed myself to buy anything other than unisex clothing for fear of jinxing myself.

anywho, here is my 18 week belly pic. i can't belive how big i'm getting. just for comparison i included other weeks too.

enjoy ;)

4 weeks...just found out9 weeks
14 weeks...hello 2nd trimester!
today, 18 weeks

cloth diapering..

we've been thinking of using cloth diapers with this baby. honestly, they are NOTHING like they used to be! they really aren't too different from disposibles these days (other than the washing). you dont need safety pins anymore!!

Anyways, the only thing deterring us right now is the initial cost. each diaper can be kinda pricey, plus you need around 12-18! overall it would be $200+. although pooks and the new baby could wear the same diapers and with bubba almost being potty trained it would save us $$ in the long run.

i digress! i found a contest today to win a cloth diapering starter kit, and they are the diapers i want to use! so i get an extra entry by blogging about them. here is the link and feel free to check it out!

take me out to the ballgame

we took the boys to a AA baseball game tonight! the boys had never seen a baseball game before, and our playgroup was meeting up there too so we figured 'why not?'. it was so much fun! honestly the boys had more fun with the concessions and the other kids, lol. actually i'm not even sure they noticed the game. *shrug* at one point everyone was clapping because an outfielder caught a pop-fly and bubba thought they were clapping because of an airplane! he was really excited about that plane and pooks loved clapping when everyone else did. they ate cotton candy, peanuts, and popcorn then washed that down with Coca-Cola. here are the pics:

a self-taken family pic, with pooks eating a peanut!

the 2 seconds that they watched the game

bubba was thirsty! he definitely got his dollar's worth

on the way into the game, they gave out these signs that read ''Go Nuts!" Here are some of the toddlers in the group holding up their signs.
almost! LOL. i told bubba to 'hold his above his head'

-----------------------------------

oh tuesday, playgroup met at a playplace in a burger king. it was raining and we had to get out of the house. it was the boys first time playing in a restaurant playplace, and photography wasn't allowed :( I did sneak 2 pics of them eating though!

update on baby tictac

had my 17wk check-up today. total so far I have gained 6lbs, the baby's HB was 148 and I had my blood drawn for the quad screen. the kinda bad news, my blood pressure was high...twice they checked and the lowest was 162/84. Dr P wasn't so worried about the bottom #, but the top # is a little high for this stage in pregnancy. i have to do a 24hr urine collection and turn that in on the 18th. the good news is that on the 18th they are also doing my ultrasound. (woohoo!)

the main reason that i am really concerned about my blood pressure is because I had PIH (pregnancy induced hypertension) when pregnant with bubba and I was on bed-rest from 29weeks on. I had to do the urine collections and NST's and u/s. i had to be induced right at 37wks. my OB thinks I have what is called chronic PIH, for whatever reason I didn't have it with pooks , but I seem to have it now. right now I have to do the urine test, then I have a bp check on the 18th with my lab and sono. depending on what my BP is then, I may have to go on medication for my BP in an effort to carry the baby full term and avoid bedrest.

*sigh*

its overwhelming! right now i'm trying to not stress and I hope its a fluke but I'm prepared in case its not. i'm trying to focus on the fact that in 11 days, we will hopefully find out the baby's sex!

anyways, thats my update. whew!
